Dear Woot traitors -
How dare you, sirs? This citizen is utterly digusted that your business would push a treasonous product like today’s shirt. As soon as I figure out what it means, I’ll be even more outraged. Are you aware that this seditious garment was designed by infamous subversive Cory Doctorow (a Canadian, no less)? I would expect more responsibility and integrity from the company that made its reputation with the Bag O’ Crap. If people are allowed to say whatever they want, then the terrorists have already won. Don’t you wingbats get it? Don’t you realize that only blind panic can make us truly secure? In the future, I will spend my t-shirt money with a 100% American company – in other words, one whose opinions never differ from my own. So nyaah, nyaah, nyaah!
Red, white, and appalled -
Mike Carthyite
This shirt was designed by: the one, the only Cory Doctorow. He blogs at Boing Boing, where the text on this design originally appeared. His longer-form writing appears at Craphound, including the full texts of all three of his novels and most of the short stories from his two published collections. He’s done all kinds of other worthwhile stuff in the name of intellectual freedom, like releasing most of his works under a Creative Commons License (including this t-shirt), working for the Electronic Frontier Foundation and teaching a course on the subject at the University of Southern California. Wait, how did a 'net superstar like this get mixed up with Shirt.Woot?
Wear this shirt to: reassure your fellow citizens with a message of anxiety and suspicion.
Don’t wear this shirt to: an airport security checkpoint, or anywhere near a secure federal installation.
This shirt tells the world: “In paranoia we trust.”
We call this color: Code Red.
