Ah, there we go! We're done! Can you believe it? Putting the finishing touches on our screenplay!
"Yeah, it certainly does feel great... sort of."
Sort of?
"Well, don't you worry, sometimes, that it'll... you know, wear out its welcome?"
Explain.
"Well, the outcome we want is to make a fun and memorable comedy movie, right? But what if we went too far? What if we've just written a movie that will be remembered forever and ever? Except, as time goes on, its group of devoted fan will grow less and less diverse until it's comprised entirely of one very specific kind of person. And the whole no one ever forgetting about our movie part? That's only because this kind of person will REFUSE TO LET ANYONE FORGET ABOUT IT. Like, they're constantly quoting it with this false sense of superiority and lecturing people who don't worship it - you know, just forcing it down everyone's throat. And eventually, there'll be no way of having a neutral opinion; you'll either be one of these fanatics or you'll resent the movie. Like, even if you enjoyed it when you first saw it, the other side's crazy devotion has soured the whole thing, and now you need to double-back on your original opinion because you can't let THOSE people win. You know what I mean?"
I think you might be over thinking this, Terry.
"Yeah, you're probably right, Terry. Sorry I went so far overboard there."
