A Link To The Pack
So you're thinking about taking your first backcountry camping trip. Congratulations! Exploring the wilderness without a car is one of the best ways to experience nature. However, carrying all your gear on your back is not as simple as car camping, are requires some additional planning.
- Keep your pack light. An extra pound or two here and there may not seem like much, but it will add up over the long run. Do you need to bring a Mirror Shield, or can you make do with the smaller, lighter Fighter's Sword?
- Mana and health potions are a necessity, but are extremely heavy. Consider bringing a potion filtration system to bring on the trail.
- Keep your food out of reach of bears and nefarious monsters. Elevate a bag containing food at least 15 feet off the ground, and protect it with a magical boomerang.
- It's nice to have some entertainment, but books are expensive, especially the Book of Mudora. Consider bringing a lightweight e-reader loaded with an e-book-of-mudora.
Have fun! And remember: It's dangerous to go alone. Take this advice seriously!
