Derby #222: Gadgets to Enhance Everyday Life
Hey, this Derby's over. When you're finished reliving past glories, check out what's going on in the Derby right now. It's probably even cooler. Or at least newer.
The days of the "push-button society" sci-fi writers and daydreamers envisioned in the '50s and '60s are long gone, replaced instead with the "glass touchscreen society" of today. We like our gadgets, and we're willing to spend big money on stuff that doesn't do a whole heck of a lot, so long as it's marketed well. This week we want you to get inventive and show us your best invention to make life a little easier. Very little. In fact, here's the catch: give us a device that helps you in the most mundane, inconsequential areas of life that no person with the cognitive capacity to acquire money would consider wasting it on one. Maybe an olive skinner or a sunlight detector or a remote-controlled toothbrush. Or something completely unheard of that you can explain in your design. Now for the rules:
- No text only designs. Yes, come up with a witty slogan. It's the only way we're going to know what the hell your invention does anyway, but you must have a graphical element as well.
- No Star Wars.
- No video games.
