I. Love. This. This is my favourite entry of the derby, and as for the text thing, seeing as you can't read it, and it is an important part of the art style, i think you should be ok. Congrats on the great design!

Yeah i can see this going in an hour maybe 75 minutes. The heather shirt with the green rectangle and purple circles sold out in like 88 minutes.

I like the design, I'm skeptical whether it will look like a great shirt, or a piece of paper that is being printed on a shirt.

"Blue Shell

I'll tell you I would buy this up in a second if it was avaliable right now. This is a great design and very reminicent of Da Vinci's notebook sketches. Great idea and I really really hope this wins so I can have one of my own :D

You can out run the blue shell explosion. Just make sure you have a speed boost, and when you see the shell go up, boost before it takes its southward dive

Cream color is always a risky choice, because it needs to be really good for some people to consider it. This shirt accomplishes that, very nice design

I must say the fact that even in the fog you can maintain 50 votes per 3 hours is impressive. It's not like people can vote more than once, meaning your design is just universally liked by everyone who see's it. I get the impression that even if you didn't get another vote, you would still have enough for first

Shutts67, agreed. The cream works nicely for the look of parchment. My 2 oldest (9 & 7) saw this and LOVED it. "It's Mario and Leonardo. Cool!" Guess another $21.65 will be flying outta my wallet if/when this wins!! Nicely done!

Is there a certain understanding that if your shirt is doing well and woot is gonna make money off of it if it wins that the rules don't necessarily apply? I am just asking because I want to know what wins and why, so I can decide to enter my designs here or move to another site. For this derby, text could be incidental or added to help keep to the style of choice. If you knew anything about da Vinci, you'd know that he kept a journal and wrote mirrored notes by his sketches.
This shirt is extremely well executed and appealing to the voters on this site, and that's why it's winning and will most likely win.

And yeah, the Rejectionator can be a little inconsistent with his rejections. For example, my Portal shirt is still running, and an unspoken "No Portal" rule has been put in place for a while (though I think I know why I've gotten away with it). Some people get lucky, others not so much. But this is definitely not one of those cases.

The rules don't say "no text whatsoever". Read carefully. From the derby theme description:

Some text is allowed if it is essential to the style you're parodying.

Some people are saying that text is not allowed but the rule for thsi derby states "Some text is allowed if it is essential to the style you're parodying. " I love the added effect of the text and thsi shirt definitely GMV.

Wow Kdeuce! I am absolutely blown away! Fantastic application of the theme, fantastic execution of your idea, fantastic fantastic! This is quite possibly the best application and execution of any derby I've seen in the last year. Of course that may just be my opinion, but so be it. This is an absolute must purchase for me!

Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents that the rules are absolutely being followed with this design. This isn't text for the sake of text, the text (if you can call it that) is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL for the style of the art. Without the text, the shirt wouldn't be da Vinci.
