This is a really cool idea but do they offer glow-in-the-dark ink?

According to the last information we have from Woot, glow in the dark ink is not currently allowed in derby entries. They have, however, printed one daily shirt using glow ink.

Another interesting point, according to jimiyo from some post long ago, is that glow in the dark ink is thicker, and can not produce fine lines. I don't know of any of the specifics, but just something FYI.

Re: Alphabet Constellation

Thanks geekfactor, I saw there were some Glow in the Dark submissions in the past. I wasn't sure if they ever got printed.
I figured I'd give it a shot. it would work without the glow in the dark ink too, but its much cooler with it.
Thanks again for the info.

I'll vote for this just to see if they can print it!

Me too. I motion that woot makes a derby with the use of glow-in-the-dark ink as the theme. Just imagine the brilliant designs that would be made! NPI

It really bothers me that people are voting for this thinking that it will be printed with glow in the dark ink. It won't. While I am not Woot Staff, and have no say over how they do things, I've been told previously by Joel that glow ink is *not* used nor allowed for derby entries. Daily shirts are a completely different animal altogether, with specialized inks and more than six colors having been used a few times.

This makes me think I should have said El Prospector would be printed with 24k gold foil highlights. I might be wearing it right now (sans gold foil highlights).

Seriously though, a glow in the dark derby would rule.

Wow, I'd shell out for a 24kt gold foil Prospector. Sweet idea. I'm in total agreement that a glow derby would be awesome, but there would have to be tutorial given beforehand to spell out how the ink works and what it prints well on.

it's brilliant, really, how people will vote for anything without THINKING about what they're voting for. Every week there's more and more reason for the derby to cease being a democracy. It shouldn't cease being so, but really, it's unfair to good designers to put the derby entirely in the hands of people who are so bad at policing their own votes.

And really, guys, what makes glow-in-the-dark cool still?
