Re: Green Dream Machine

Ok, well other designs keep getting formed as I work on another design.
Not sure if this is everyone's tastes, but I like the colors and I like simple tees, so thought I would put it out there.
Thanks for your feedback/votes!

Hahaha, I think your first design won't get to see the light if you keep making detours.

Kind of looks like a tern rolled up in an avocado. Very west coast. I like it.

I know... I'm procrastinating!! But now I'm actually back to that one. Go to the pre-derby thread soon, cause I need help/pushes to finish that one;)

If I saw someone wearing this shirt I wouldn't think to ask, "is the Green Dream Machine a band?" But I still love the design and would buy/wear the shirt anyway. I think it would work without the text too. Great colours.

Sweet! Actually it's interesting you say that about the text, because I thought it worked well without it too and almost submitted it like that... but not sure if it would still be considered on topic without the band name displayed?
I dig these colors too, thanks.

i am very proud of you....not that you need my approval.....but you used bright colors in every entry. no black shirts. no brown shirts. no asphalt. no navy. i hope you win. hell win 1, 2, and 3 spots.

i was worried with this derby it would be all black sabbath black tees with hackneyed band designs. yours are not that at all. thank you.

good luck.

Happy Beer.

What exactly is that logo supposed to be? I'm hoping some sort of plant or flower (avocado, maybe?), but my mind keeps going back to vagina. @_@

Maybe it's cause I've got a dirty mind, or maybe cause my girlfriend's been away for a week, but I, too, keep seeing a green vagina

It's meant to be abstract/interpretative, but LOL I assure you, vagina was not one of the things I thought of. Go ahead and think it's a plant, avocado (or tern rolled into an avocado as Mr.wednesday said).

i have not yet looked through all the entries in this derby, but i am fairly sure this is the worst band tee i have ever seen. is the green swirly supposed to be the band logo? if it is, that is also a very poor decision on the part of your fake band. a band logo is supposed to be something easily recognizable to help brand the band. the only way this would work is if your fake band was so popular, the name struck immediate recognition, which is the opposite of what this derby is going for, coolness through obscurity. without it, i would think the person wearing this shirt was a jamba juice employee wearing their work shirt out in public

What....? I have a feeling this made sense in your head when you said it, for serious, what?

Just about everything about this is fairly unique and if you've ever been to a concert, it fits in with just about all of the merchandise sold unless death-core speed metal bands are the only shows you go to. Between the font, the colors, and the symbol which is unique enough to stand out and immediately be recognized, this is just about everything a band would want in a shirt. And this derby has nothing to do with obscurity, it was simply a lead in by woot that obviously if an obscure band is cool than a non-existent one but be absolutely fracking awesome!!!

It was a joke. Get it? Jokes are funny. hah hah?

the only band who would dare to use an abstract multi color blob would be a band famous enough to get away with it. because it doesnt create brand recognition. you could see this band the day before and see this logo somewhere and still not recognize it. and the shirt color, the simplicity of the design and the soft font all say to me "try jamba juice's new smoothie, the green dream machine" if you dont know, they already have a smoothie called the orange dream machine.

what type of band is this supposed to be promoting? a wiggles type band? an acoustic eco-friendly all female band? if so, dont you think the question arises as to why anyone would want to advertise liking this band?

and i have been to a ton of shows. i have seen literally thousands of merch shirts. from the smallest cafe shows that dont even charge a cover, to club shows at places like the roxy, whiskey and house of blues, larger shows in auditoriums and theaters, and gigantic shows in stadiums, fields, festivals. i have a fairly good idea of what a band shirt should be, and this is the opposite. unless you want to tell me that the thousands of shirts i have seen have all taken the wrong approach and what all bands should strive for is soft plain designs with no brand recognition and can easily be mistaken for a shirt retail clerks are forced to wear

It really does look like the female anatomy. Even the name green "dream machine" makes me question the intent here...

If I had to guess, I'd say most of the concerts you've been to were not in the last ten years. I'd also like to say that your entire idea about what kinds of bands should have what types of shirts is completely backwards. For the most part, the more obscure low billing bands playing small venues, particularly indie bands, are much more likely to have merch like this not the big bands.

Well known bands usually have very loud dead weasels with a lot of text promoting whatever national or world tour they happen to be on much like the cowbell shirt. The smaller bands currently depend a lot more on a dedicated fanbase and tend to go the route of a simple more artistic design that often has nothing to do with the band itself and the band name. There is room for both. You can hot tamale and moan about how, "lol dis is sum jamba juicezzzz der" but you really have no idea what you're talking about.

your supposition that i have no idea what i am talking about is entirely dependent on the assumption that i havent been to a concert in 10 years. man, im 24. are you trying to suggest i havent been to a show since i was 14, and before i turned 15 i went to hundreds of shows. secondly, i live in southern california, as you might have been able to guess, so i would say over half the shows i have been to have been small clubs with standing room only and with a folding table in the corner selling merch. not that you could know any of that, but you were wrong to assume. i could start name-calling like you did, but thats not a very effective tactic, is it? when have i ever said anything in dumbed down internet speak? seriously i would like you to quote it. i will paypal you $500 if you can find an instance in which i seriously said "lol" or "dis" instead of "this".

so lets recap. first you make two poor assumptions about me, that i havent been to a show in 10 years, then that i dont go to see indie bands. then you suggest i am competely wrong but give no evidence, just poorly thought out, fallible reasoning with no examples to back up your unfounded claims, then you resort to making poor characterizations of me in an attempt to do what? to try to discredit what i say under the banner of debasement by suggesting that i talk like a 15yo on the internet?

the only thing youve accomplished is you dissolved any residual respect i had for you. i hope other people who read this can see you for what you really are
