Great! I would've liked the text to go all the way down.

I was sure hot dogs had some "happy fun ball" in the ingredients as well...

Brilliant! I particularly like that "soylent green" is thrown in there.

I agree with Robert, the text should have gone farther down. Other than that, you have another great idea concept here. I don't think I could where a shirt that has a hot dog on it, but the concept is to good to pass up. GMV.

Yeah, right now it makes the composition look a bit odd. But still, it's pretty great!

Also, I hate to say it but this is too subtle. I remember being confused by this the first time you entered it.

Since text is allowed, I'd go for a "What AM I?" text bubble.

I'd love it if the text bubble said "I'm a monster!!!"

I'm not sure what's funnier -- the joke ingredients or the ones that are likely to actually be IN a hotdog...

I'm glad you made this post. I passed it off without reading as a "real" ingredients list.

Then I saw your post and then I laughed.

Thanks for the kind words and early votes, folks!

As for ThatRobert's and OdysseyRoc's composition comments- tried it with a shirt full of text, but it looked kind of weird since the hot dog is standing on a surface. Maybe it would work if he was drawn more in a floating pose...? I love you guys' work and value your opinions, so I'll think about them more and maybe play with it a bit...

Good point. Maybe if the text was a shade of blue or something -- more of a wallpaper feel -- and a more distinct darker shadow under the feet?

It seems kind of top heavy to me. Maybe some sort of horizontal element at the bottom would help "anchor" things.

LOL! I love this idea! Rglee, I think you should re-sub with some of these suggestions. I really don't see a problem with the length of text, I think it looks fine the way it is. But I love this idea from o-roc, and I would love to see "happy fun ball" in the ingredients as well like Robert suggested. Also would love to see "log" in there

Eye gunk, belly button lint, and gum come to mind as well...

Great shirt though, it's hilarious. It appeals to the psychologist in me

Or rather, it sounds like you have two conflicting opinions.

As an aside comment, you should probably buy something from the company you work for. It says you have 0 woots...that's just weird to me.

as someone said before, this shirt is clever but too subtle. many people won't take time to read through the ingredients, and even if they scan it chances are they won't see the really funny ones like "this one thing we found."

also, it probably would have taken me a while to understand that the hot dog was going through an identity crisis if i didnt see the caption. it might a good idea to have a thought bubble exclaiming "what am I?" or something like that, as someone previously also pointed out.

either that, or have the hot dog actually look at the ingredient list with a confused look - this might better convey a sense of identity loss.

Thanks for the tip and comment.

Maybe I'm just biased b/c it's fogged and I don't want it to lose momentum, but I dig the timing of the way this design is read, and I'd hate to mess that up. Its subtlety is part of the payoff.

Loosely defended by tip #7 in Billy Wilder's 10 tips for writers: "A tip from Lubitsch: Let the audience add up two plus two. They’ll love you forever."

Otherwise it's more Carrot Top and less Joel Hodgson. Of course Carrot Top was sort of funny and is probably really, really rich.

In lieu of Hoffa, the missing person ingredient is Ambrose Chase, which I had to look up out of curiosity. Of course an Illustrator would use him instead!

This is the first time I felt compelled to comment on one of the derby shirts, this is awesome!

Sammy's finger, and a tiny bit of poop are my faves on the ingredients list.

If this wins I will definitely buy one! Even tho I have no idea if I can pull off wearing a hotdog on my shirt, it will be worth it if just ONE person reads the ingredients close enough to get a chuckle!

I liked the shirt in general. I wouldn't even mind explaining the whole idea to people, but some of the ingredients seem a bit too silly for me...

- This one thing we found - Other hotdogs - Very funny!

- tiny bit of poop - stinky britches - ... eh...

Nice idea tho!

Thanks for the comment. You'll have to forgive the shotgun approach- although a pip of potty humor isn't funny for everyone, for some folks it's comedy gold. Something for everyone, as they say.

Gah! I'm starting to get nervous! Just saw this derby on Friday (sorry I didn't get to vote!!) and now there's only one day left for my chances to own a shirt describing how I feel about industrialized meat with the words "A Tiny Bit of Poop". Hope it sells, but either way, brilliant concept, and I hope you can sell it elsewhere if not here.
