It's not even attempting to NOT be a pop culture reference. :\ http://www.in70mm.com/news/2002/lion_king/images/simba.jpg

Oh, yeah, no, it's definitely the rock-- it's not the lion in the exact same pose, and the lion constellation in the sky, or any of the other details that are directly ripped from Disney-- I'm sure if you get rid of the rock, one of the most powerful corporations in the world won't sue Woot over this shirt.

Seriously, it is not the EXACT same pose, this one has more of a curve to Simba's tail

Did I say Simba!?
I meant generic lion silhouette

No joke, before there was "Simba" there was "Kimba."

Shame on you, Disney.

Shame on Disney for taking a crappy 1950s anime, using some elements of the story, and making it about 10000007x better.

Shaaaame on them. No other person or company has ever done that before ever.

As an admitted fan of Disney animation, I still think it's one of their (especially Jeffrey Katzenberg's) scummier moments. I also never liked The Lion King -- the music was annoying and preachy and the characters (especially the "sidekicks") were irritating instead of charming. Personally I mark the Lion King as the start of Disney's mid-nighties downward skid, not Pocahontas.
