Re: No Borders!

I love the double entendre of this title.

Feedback dictated that I re-work "She walks softly, but she carries a BIG GUN!" without the frame.

I centered her and re-worked the coloring, putting a big splash of red in the middle. I re-did the face, so it wasn't so askew (I gave her a lollipop and a "banjo on her knee," too!). I like my original sub, no, ...I love her, but I thought I would offer this for those who prefer, "No Borders!"

Vote for the one you want, or Vote for both!

Thanks for your feedback, I listen to you!

Don't visible nipples tend to get things rejected?

This is six colors? Freakin' wicked halftoning. It's not my style, but great design.

Yeah, my art teacher would be proud. Mixing primaries was kinda my knack when we did point art.

I downloaded some awesome halftone brushes and screens. I used to do this the hard way when I did editorial cartoons at university. Moving thge layers to blend new colours was really challenging, but fun.

Thanks!
You gotta vote to gimme props, though.

Thanks,
Well, next time I'll try it out on "bunnies."
OR kitties, or... Who'm my kidding?!

This took a long time in halftones and it's my first real time using it in Adobe. I thought that if we did it in illustrator, we could use gradients? I did that a couple o' derbies ago and got canned.

But I found some vector particle smoke brushes and vector halftone screens I can lay over and erase away move them around.

Kinda old school, but gradients are easier.

Thanks again!

You know I love both versions too, I like that this version has a few little changes to further distinguish it from the orig.(Like the lollipop)
Wicked, wicked illustration.Obviously gmv!

Thank you, fellow K-9 Citizen!
I run a tight pack, and 3D "is my bag, baby!" Bryce5 renders gadient and distance masks for Adobe. I also got some vector particle smoke brushes that really helped. I'm going to enter every single derby I can, to keep my skillz-that-killz extra sharp.

I love these because, it's like having a client put restrictions on you, but letting you do whatever you want. So, I bring my best or I don't bring it.

I had 4 good ideas, some were probably more marketable than this one, but she called to me in a dream and I woke and started building!

In martial arts, we try to capture the spirit or energy of a technique. I try to do that here, with each theme, and make something I would wear.

Thanks 4 the nod!

Awesome! Very much want! If you do print it somewhere else (if Woot doesn't take it), I'll definitely have to check it out.

I'm serious!

I have a guy that does all my clients when I do designs in the private sector, he's awesome and his tekkie knows how to do all kinds of schtuff. I did an 8 color sep for the Pipe & Drumms society of a Fire Department and I really didn't know how to do color seps. They made it awesome, no problem for $12.00 a shirt!

I would definitely do this one for about $15.00 US. That's a fair price for this kinda "Hottness!"

I like your character very cool design use of halftones was excellent. If I had one critique it would possibly be less is more sometimes. Very strong piece over all though.

The presentation seems a bit crammed/ overwhelming. The image alone, that you place it your comments is a lot more pleasing. To me, your presentation is a bit chaotic and discomforting to the ol' eyeballs... way too much overlapping and unnecessary elements. Always assume that a majority of the people are only going to view this for a few seconds before making a decision. You want it clear like.. bam! The less is more statement applies to the presentation in my opinion. Keep it clear/ clean and keep it simple. That is my experience at least.

I really appreciate you taking the time to give your advice. It makes a lot of sense and explains why, maybe, ...this didn't get the "love" I expected. Maybe people just don't like my hairstyle or that I'm "really, really good-looking" (Zoolander). I'm just having some fun, I thought the drama came with the derby?

My A.D.D. sometimes boggles my art, my Mom has told me that since I was 7. That's kinda how I got the tag, "BlindDog." I'm all over the place just sniffin' for a bone!

I will apply this advice to future derby entries. I learned a lot, this time through; creating more colors with halftones, no squares (design intergration), and no "HOT CHICKS!"

Thank you, again, for stopping by!

One Question:
How do we nominate "Best Losers?"

Sincerely,
BlindDog3D

Re: No Borders!

I would really be stoked if both of these broke "50." I plan on producing this, myself, so if you are interested in getting one for $15.00, lt me know. I know she has a limited audience, but "some love" is better than "no love at all!"

I will be using the "No Borders!" version for the print run on good quality cotton, black T-shirts. I like natural fibers on MY back. Please indicate size, I need at least 20 orders to make this happen.
