Re: A Catchy Theme Song

Once a year or so I get this song stuck in my head. Now it's a t-shirt.

6 colors on silver (the purple and light blue, etc., are half tones...).

I'm getting Community flashbacks. @_@

Did you see the Levar Burton episode, Robbie? (so good)

Yay!

Those who grew up in the 80's should get this one right off the bat.

GMV!

Man, now that song's gonna be stuck in my head all day. I just youtubed it

Lot of people had this idea, but I love how creative you were in the composition.

I had no idea either. So googled it:

\o/

Still no idea what the show was, guess it has to do with being European :P, but now at least I know the lyrics

Aww you make me feel old! It was a public access tv show in the 80's and they reviewed the plot of a children's book each show in some creative fashion. And the host was Geordi from Star Trek, which I always enjoyed pointing out when my brothers had Star Trek on. I still do it when I come across Enterprise reruns!

At any rate, it was a show that encouraged children to read and go get books out from the library. We watched in school sometimes too. Cause reading is fun!

I do this to my husband constantly. It is the only thing that gets me through his almost monthly marathons. Well that and analyzing the show through a cold war war perspective.

Love the shirt GMV.

I laughed so hard that tears ran down my face, and not just cause it was so late that it was Jatravartid-o'clock. I actually wish for a different color background only because the silver in person just kinda looks like a dirty white shirt to me. But it's GMV and I'm in for 3 if it prints!

That should read Jatravartid o clock. Did I just get censored or something?

Yes. Yes I did. In this instance, stoooopid refers to overlaughing due to a late hour, not in any way referring to a shirt or idea. Carry on.

I was struggling mightily to read the lyrics along with the design until I realized it was top to bottom. Why would you do that to me? Whhhhhhhyyyyyyyy?

Even better, it starts behind a clef! Yes, you can even read music sheets.

Yeah, I'm gonna be 27 in a week and didn't feel old...until now hahaha. It's hard to believe there are people that don't know this theme song. And yes, now it will be in my head all night too. Thanks =/ hahaha =P

You guys don't need to feel *that* old. Didn't reading rainbow only just go off the air in the last two years?

Anyway I loved the show when I was a little kid back in the early 90's/ late 80's and I love this shirt. Awesome work.

I do wonder about the use of the spelling "metres" for an American TV show theme song... I'd amend that to "meters" for the final draft, if possible. That said, I love it and I hope it prints!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

@Shmuel510 Oh man, that's embarrassing. If I'm fortunate enough for this to print, I'll correct the spelling. Thanks for the heads up...

I didn't see it. That's the Chevy Chase community college show, right?

I wanted to use Mr. Burton for the "Take a Look" illo, in which someone is grabbing Geordi's (sp?) visor, but that would be instantly rejected. Dang.

I absolutely love this!

If it prints I might just have to buy two, so once one wears out I'll still have one to wear!

Re: A Catchy Theme Song

I think I'd like this better if it had fewer literal illustrations of the words and was, for example, just the "butterfly in the sky" and the "reading rainbow" and maybe a more subtle illustration of the other lines, like a kid twice as high in the sky looking with binoculars at a book?

Help spread the word to other wooters, then. This was in the fog since Friday afternoon, but fell out just a couple hours ago.

I am shocked...shocked that this is not in the fog. I really should have spread my purchases out over several accounts so I could vote for this more times. I'm off to unvote for everything else I voted for.

I MUST have this shirt!

I know your pain. This probably the only shirt in the derby that I would have worn. Unfortunately, like 9 out of 10 shirts printed all come from a range of less than a dozen users. I'm getting progressively tired of seeing the same styles week after week. It's kind of defeating the purpose I purchase from woot in the first place.

I wish this hadn't fallen out of the fog. I would have bought it for sure. Hopefully my two back-ups will be printed.

Does anybody have a http://shirt.woot.com/offers/cloak-of-visibility-lightweight-hoodie and/or http://shirt.woot.com/offers/who-needs-gravity-zip-up-hoodie in MXL that they don't want and/or need to sell? I would LOVE to buy it from you! I am currently offering $40+S&H for either one new, and $20-30+S&H for either one used! Please contact me ASAP, thanks!

I don't think you should feel too old. I wasn't even born until '87, and this show was totally my childhood.

And I think it says something about my upbringing that, rather than point out that Geordi was the guy from Reading Rainbow, I always watched Reading Rainbow and thought it was weird to see Geordi without his visor.
Thanks to my dad for that.

If you figure out a way to get this printed, I am soooo getting at least two, I love this design! It's a pity it didn't make the cut.

Threadless!!! can't believe this didn't get an HM. I think I need to take another woot break, i'm getting annoyed with all the crappy designs winning.
