Being a ghost? It’s not the worst. Sure, you miss all the earthly things you used to love. The candy corn runs right through me now. I miss driving and playing the clarinet. I never actually played the clarinet, of course, but it would have been nice to have had the option, you know?
But there’s good stuff, too. Most living people are terrified of me, so I get a lot of time to focus on my own pet projects. Also, I can sleep in as late as I want! Oh, and sometimes a bunch of us float around Ikea after it’s closed and play hide and seek in the cupboards.
I’ve met a lot of interesting characters. Yeltsin? Nice guy. Great singing voice.
So overall, it’s okay. Don’t worry about us. We have our own fun.
But I sure do miss you, Mom, and I wish you could hear me.
