Re: Quoth the Raven
It always surprises me just how much of this poem I can recite from memory. Great job on the raven. GMV.

That's pretty funny. The designer of this shirt can recite the entire thing from memory.
She's my sister btw.
Re: Quoth the Raven
I like the way you think.
Re: Quoth the Raven
LOVE!
Re: Quoth the Raven
Nevermore is one of my favorite bands! GMV.
Re: Quoth the Raven
I totally forgot about this poem. Nice job dude. You got my vote
Re: Quoth the Raven
The feet should be inverted Ys or something so it doesn't get the boot... just sayin'

She's not a dude

Re: Quoth the Raven
Great work on the style... gritty and sketchy! I like it...
Re: Quoth the Raven
I voted for this. Simple shirts are better.
I think this is really brilliant. Great job!
nice shirt. with regards to the other raven shirt, i think this one is bit more dreary, depressing, etc. meaning, of course, i love it
Re: Quoth the Raven
While this is much better than the other raven shirt, I have to take my vote back... I did not realize until further inspection just how sloppy this is. This is way better as an idea, but the execution is just lacking too much.

I kinda like that it looks more hand drawn and rough as opposed to perfection. Ravens usually look that way to me anyway. Just my P.O. Here's a vote to make up for the lost one.

This shirt still gets my vote, but I kinda agree. I love the idea, the execution not so much. I wish it was done with a "brushed" effect instead of a Sharpie look. Oh well...

Not everyone is an Adobe Master.
Re: Quoth the Raven
This is pretty awesome. I too would have preferred for the letters to be completely jet black, but it's got my vote and my $10 anyway. =)

no no, it's suppose to be like this. to me it really conveys the mood of the poem. not sure if i can explain it.
Best shirt I've seen in a while. Love love love!
Re: Quoth the Raven
I guess Poe themed shirts are popular this week! I don't mind the rough edges. I think they would have been a little better if they ran along the back of the bird keeping the front solid, so it seems like they are coming from a light source.

Yeah, it has kind of a gloomy, Edward Gorey feel to it. I like how the filling is "incomplete."
Turbotuff wrote:The feet should be inverted Ys or something so it doesn't get the boot... just sayin'
Maybe, just maybe they're inverted Ts . . . :-)
BTW . . . great design . . . it has a message, and I like messages.

this is in regard to the sloppyness of the design... however I feel if it was cleaned up more, sharper edges and so forth that would make the difference between winning and maybe placing in this derby
Re: Quoth the Raven
Thanks for all the votes and comments everyone! I'm excited that my design is doing so well (although it's still early!) especially since this is only my second derby.
As for the roughness of the design, it was entirely intentional, and it's my interpretation of the poem. I really appreciate the comments and critiques, though, so thanks!

Incredible design.. simply stated, really like the roughness as well. good luck
I love it!
Re: Quoth the Raven
I love this design [and with respect, think it tops the other raven shirt], i only wish that it had more of a tail [gets cut off like that] and it was smaller on the shirt, possibly placed differently. Good luck, i hope this does well, its a very nice design
I would personally would buy both of the two top raven shirts. Great job! I hope you win!
africadoug wrote:I would personally would buy both of the two top raven shirts. Great job! I hope you win!
I'd definitely agree. Although I like this one a good bit better.
Re: Quoth the Raven
Great design, GMV for sure. Hope I can buy one on Thursday!

if you're voting for 1 raven shirt, might as well vote for the other so they can tie and let the fourth place shirt get printed
Re: Quoth the Raven
Wahoowa! Love this just the way it is.
Re: Quoth the Raven
I went for this one over the other raven because people can get the point without having to come up close and squint at my chest.
Re: Quoth the Raven
Come on people! Look how many of these entries are ravens... and TWO are in the fog?!?!? This is ridiculous.
can i still get one of these?
