I think this is very good! It GMV! The chick is very cute and simplistic and I like that! Maybe the only thing I would add is a shadow... maybe? Not sure on that but maybe....

many apologies, i was actually in the derby entry forum and replied to the wrong tiareman message-- i meant to reply to tiareman's comment regarding my sub, which also would have benefited from shadows. I did just to click on your design, and while it's not my taste, i hope it does well. and yeah, it might also need some shadowing.

It's a beautiful design and I love the artistic style of the design, so please don't feel that I just hate your design or anything. I feel the heart balloon aspect is a little off for a greed theme. I would think that the design invokes more of a 'Hope' response rather than 'Greed'. I believe that's because it's so light and relaxed in design. Greed is a deadly sin, and as that's a negative trait, the design is just a bit too positive to pull it off for me.

But I will say, that despite all of my comparison to the theme, I love the piece on its own. You executed your design beautifully and it's very pretty.

Thank you jzelts! I appreciate the compliment about my past work as well as on my dragon! (I have 2 more coming this week) I really do like this piece and since you actually elaborated further about it being a 'harmless greed' of sorts, I believe I will indeed vote for it.

I think you did great, I wouldn't have known to look at it that it's just your first submission. I think with a little more detail on the woman I'd have voted for it - she's just a little bit clip-artish for my taste, but that's just me!

After this post, and my response, several men chimed in, many agreeing with your more sinister interpretation. Is it her gracefulness can be interpreted as heartless nonchalance? who knows. but interesting to look at one's work again and see something different.

I really really like this design. I think though, that the population is too male for a shirt this feminine to be happytastical. I want one.

Thanks, ltt. the girl's greed is just meant to be a harmless one-- a possibly difficult concept given that it is considered one of the deadly sins ;) But I appreciate your compliment!

Yes I thought of that. Think of this shirt as counterprogramming, like airing "Sex and the City" on the night of the Super Bowl

This is really lovely!! I'm finding that I'm not a huge fan of this particular theme (although there is some great work that has been done for it), but I really like this one a lot, and would wear it, for sure

Really like the idea, design, and color choices. =) Would be nice to see more girly and/or yellow shirts on here.

My only concern is how it would look from a distance, or until you got up close... a large, off-center red spot, lol.

Still, GMV, and I hope you submit again. =)

Aw, thanks for the support! And thanks for the comment, i will certainly keep it in mind the next time... of course, it's not getting printed, so we'll never know just how small it was going to be... ;)
