Derby #191: Robots Save the World
Hey, this Derby's over. When you're finished reliving past glories, check out what's going on in the Derby right now. It's probably even cooler. Or at least newer.
By now you've probably seen the pre-announcement and are already feverishly working on your design, but on the off chance you missed it we'll clue you in. We're partnering with the gang at FUNimation to present a special anime-inspired Derby in honor of the release of Evangelion 2.22: You Can (Not) Advance on DVD and Blu-ray. What's the big deal? Prizes, my friend. Prizes. In addition to our usual cash prizes we'll be including a home theater system and awesome anime prize pack courtesy of FUNimation. All you've got to do is show us a design depicting robots, be they giant anime mechs or something else entirely, saving the world. Maybe they're fighting monsters, maybe they're picking up pollution, maybe they're just teaching us all and important lesson about tolerance; but we'd prefer to see some giant robot-fighting-monster action. Anyway, a special Derby requires special rules, and we've got some:
- Do not use any images, logos, or other assets associated with Evangelion. We're looking for "Robots Save the World" t-shirts, not Evangelion t-shirts.
- You may use either gold (#b69624) or silver (#c5c7c9) metallic shimmer ink for your design - only one, not both. It will count toward your total 6 ink colors.
- Halftones/gradients cannot use metallic ink.
- The smallest line we can print using metallic ink is a 4 point line in Illustrator, or an 8 pixel line in Photoshop. (Those numbers are based on your artwork at full size.)
- Incidental text only.
