Yup. Thumbnail is broken.

Art101, resub as soon as you can. :^)
This is a sweet design. And I say that as someone who has sadly never toasted a marshmallow.

Yeah I hope this gets fixed, it's a sure winner IMO.

perfect time of year for it too!
Re: Order of Operations
Yup, I don't see the thumbnail, but just happen to click on it. I hate math, but this shirt is otterific and yummy. Now I want smores ![]()
Re: Order of Operations
Please fix the thumbnail... THIS MUST BE SEEN! For SCIENCE! <3

I cheat and nuke my marshmallows (no fire.) But it is almost as fun, because they get SUPER big.

wth!!!! your parents need to be beaten.
edit: wait aren't you a limey brit? maybe that's why.... no camping weather just gloom and gray. =)

Marshmallows in the UK are also somewhat different from the ones typically used for toasting in the States (at least such was the case in my experiences growing up on both sides of the pond.)
As a vegetarian, marshmallows are something I had to give up on for quite some time. They make an excellent vegan variety, but I have not yet attempted to toast them. At least for s'mores and rice krispy treats, I discovered gelatin-free marshmallow fluff ...
Re: Order of Operations
Smores was on my list of ideas. Excellent execution!
iloveschocobos wrote:Yup, I don't see the thumbnail, but just happen to click on it. I hate math, but this shirt is otterific and yummy. Now I want smores
I actually clicked on it because I was intrigued how a shirt with a broken thumbnail got into the fog. I had to see what was so awesome that the thumbnail was irrelevant.
Love it.
Re: Order of Operations
My only issue with this shirt is that there are two times when you add [granola bar/2]. Once at the beginning and once at the end. So.. the math doesn't really add up for me.
However, I'm still voting yes and I'm still buying it if it gets picked. :D

goof. You start out with half a graham cracker (graham cracker/2), a piece of chocolate, toast the marshmallow, add it, and then at the end you add the other half a graham cracker (the second graham cracker/2) and squooosh it all together, melting the chocolate, some, with the marshmallow. The equation is correct.
Re: Order of Operations
I would have put marshmallow + stick over fire and use brackets ->[] for the outer parenthesis. Maybe if you resub you might wanna change that
Re: Order of Operations
You know you have a winning idea when the thumb doesn't work and it's solidly in the fog. Great work!

there's some scientific method in action: does a shirt with no thumbnail get more or less views than it's compatriot with one?
JesseBYAH wrote:WHAT?!?! Holy crapola spirit, lets go camping. Like nowish.
Ha. ^_^ Well it's camping time of year now, isn't it?
Don't feel sorry for me, it's just one of those things you don't do unless you live in America. I've spent a lot of summers in the states, but never been camping and made s'mores. The closest would be a S'mores Pop Tart.
Okay, maybe feel a bit sorry for me.

I can see the thumbnail just fine, in both Firefox 3 and IE 8. I can't see the art in anyone's quote of it, though. Odd.

It was totally broken this afternoon, but it seems Woot did fix it on one end. Really, it having a thumbnail in the derby is most important. I wonder what happened?

Re: Order of Operations
so im gonna be really nit picky on this design only cause i would definitely buy this shirt if this one thing wasnt bothering me (damn my ocd and my father whos a mathmatician) but if you start out with the graham cracker divided by two, why are you adding another graham cracker divided by two at the end? seems like you wouldn't need that last graham cracker equation to get the perfect smore cause then the chocolate to cracker ratio would just be all off! =) also i wish the end result was a completed delicious looking smore instead of the smiley face. i understand this is in the fog and you probably arn't gonna change it now so i totally understand if you ignore me completely ;) but just some suggestions if this doesnt print and you resub it in the future =)
EDIT: so my dad explains to me that graham cracker divided by two means half a graham cracker, so now it makes sense to me to have two, even though to me it means a graham cracker divided in 2. this is also why i hate math, why can't they just be more straight forward! haha =) i still hold firm though on the final result be a tasty delicious smores!
Re: Order of Operations
PEMDAS!

While I like the design, this seems more like math than the scientific method.

I agree... Cool design though! I *want* to vote, because my son would love this shirt, but I can't justify that it's the scientific method.
(The thumbnail looks fine to me.)

Marshmallows are made with gelatin. Many vegetarians won't eat gelatin, and for sure vegans won't.
Re: Order of Operations
hey you have it add the graham cracker twice... just sayin
HalfWheat wrote:Marshmallows are made with gelatin. Many vegetarians won't eat gelatin, and for sure vegans won't.
And the gelatin is made from pork. So definitely not halal or kosher in addition to not being veggie/vegan friendly.
doabarrelroll16 wrote:hey you have it add the graham cracker twice... just sayin

When I make s'mores I use half a graham cracker for the top and half a graham cracker for the bottom. Like the order of operations shows.
Just sayin
(Except I put peanut butter on mine.)
doabarrelroll16 wrote:hey you have it add the graham cracker twice... just sayin
wth is wrong with people? it adds half of a graham cracker on one side, and half of a graham cracker on the other side!
i probably shouldn't be this peeved about math ignorance, but i deal with this daily. half the time i have to draw pictures so people understand. argh it's only tuesday.....

you should have deleted the entire first part of your post and written "edit: nevermind the math part, but i'd still like a s'more instead of smiley."
jabberjaws13 wrote:you should have deleted the entire first part of your post and written "edit: nevermind the math part, but i'd still like a s'more instead of smiley."
meh, i was thinking that if anyone else who is horrible at math has the same thought they would look at mine and then see the edit and it would be answered, and it would give them some small comfort to know that they are not alone in their aggravation against math, haha. apparently a lot of people don't read the comments before they post however. i have always had a problem "reading math" when i say it out loud it confuses me. when i see graham cracker over 2 in my head i say graham cracker divided by 2 which then makes me imagine two delicious halves of a graham cracker.
HalfWheat wrote:Marshmallows are made with gelatin. Many vegetarians won't eat gelatin, and for sure vegans won't.
I'm vegetarian and don't care for marshmallows so no big loss. I've met vegans who eat s'mores and when I point out where gelatin comes from, they say, "lighten up"! All bets are off when it comes to melty treats...

if you are using fake marshmallows, you are making fake s'mores, so your

lol. =)

Well kosher marshmallows do exist, having eaten them. I believe they use either gelatin made from fish or plants (depending on who the rabbi giving the certification is)
What I have found out is that they really are very different than "traditional marshmallows" which contain gelatin. Once one of my friends was doing a smores event on campus and since it was his event and he wanted to eat them too he used kosher marshmallows- and everyone was like Oragutan Mating Guide... what's wrong with the marshmallows and why are they lighting on fire and not actually melting the chocolate...
Apparently not everything has a substitute.

The important thing is that marshmallow creme makes better rice krispy treats than marshmallows do. I can skip the smores...
Re: Order of Operations
Shouldn't there be a 'minus fire' in the equation somewhere like the minus stick? You probably would not be smiling on the other side of the equal sign if the s'more was on fire!
Aside from that technicality, I love the idea. Nice work!

I love it. But you forgot to subtract fire... IT BURNS IT BURNS!!!!

Similar, yes. Though I have to say I like this one better. I get what you were saying "Marshmallows over Fire" but I read it as marshmallows divided by fire.. which just makes a mess.
